Cantata's Brooktrout speech boards integrate with VoiceXML or SALT "browsers," transparently handling media and telephony signaling tasks in these environments. Although this abstraction means that applications based on VoiceXML or SALT do not integrate directly with telephony boards, those who deploy speech applications must consider their impact on the accuracy, performance and cost of the overall speech system.
