Brooktrout Technology’s SnowShore Media Server Awarded Internet Telephony Product of the Year

Selected for Emphasis on Standard Platforms and Protocols

NEEDHAM, Mass., January 25, 2005 -- Brooktrout Technology, Inc., a leading supplier of media processing and call control products, today announced that its SnowShore Media Server™, an open, carrier-class IP media server, was honored with a Product of the Year Award from Internet Telephony® magazine. The SnowShore Media Server provides flexible media processing resources that can support a broad range of applications, from basic messaging and multiparty conferencing to prepaid services and network announcements.

In 2004, Brooktrout announced the SnowShore Media Server’s support of the H.263 video compression standard for video messaging and video portal applications. The application delivers compelling voice/data services across a single, flexible, highly scaleable platform. Because it utilizes industry-standard server platforms and standards-based IP protocols, the SnowShore Media Server can leverage the ongoing evolution of network architectures and processor technology to deliver a flexible media processing solution for next-generation IP applications.
