Brooktrout Technology Executive Appointed Chairperson of IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) Session at the 21st Century Communications World Forum

What: Brooktrout Technology, Inc., a leading supplier of media processing, and call control products, today announced that its Vice President, Chief Technology Officer for Next-Gen Communications, Eric Burger, will chair the “IMS for Wireless and Wireline Services” session at the 21st Century Communications World Forum. Also speaking as part of the panel, will be Guy Redmill, Brooktrout’s Market Development Manager for EMEA.

This session will give a brief overview of the IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS), followed by a discussion of the service-deployment philosophy, and will offer perspectives and experiences from operators deploying services with the new model.

Brooktrout’s SnowShore Media Server is an open, carrier class media processing resource that can support a broad range of applications, from basic messaging and multiparty calling to prepaid services and network announcements. Speakers: Chairperson, Eric Burger, is Vice President, Chief Technology Officer for Next-Gen Communications for Brooktrout Technology and is a pioneer of the SIP-Controlled Media Server. Mr. Burger represents Brooktrout Technology on several industry standards forums including the IETF, IEEE and SIP Forum. He is the author of numerous IETF RFCs and SIP-related drafts, as well as contributions to the W3C, PacketCable, and other standards organizations. Mr. Burger currently has eight patents issued and eight patents pending, and holds degrees from MIT and the Catholic University of Leuven and was an Adjunct Professor of Computer Science at George Mason University.

Eli Doron, Chief Technology Officer, and Co-Founder, RADVISON, is responsible for leading the company's service provider initiative, both wireless and wireline. Mr. Doron is RADVISION's technology visionary and an industry pioneer in the development of voice and video over IP technologies.

Chris Haddock, Marketing Director EMEA, Ubiquity Software, is responsible for all aspects of marketing across the Ubiquity software product range in Europe, Middle East and Africa, including a specific focus on the wireless sector.

Dominic O'Neill, Head of Solution Design, Service Networks, Orange Group, is primarily responsible for end-to-end design of communications services across the Orange group of companies.

Guy Redmill, Market Development Manager, EMEA, Brooktrout Technology, is primarily responsible for developing Brooktrout's enterprise voice and carrier enhanced service businesses in the EMEA marketplace.

Demo: On the Brooktrout stand 1006, Ubiquity will demonstrate a Ringback Tone service, which utilizes the capabilities of the Brooktrout SnowShore IP Media Server™. Ubiquity Ringback Tone (RBT) is a multi-tenant, IP and PSTN application that provides personalized ring back tone service for service providers. Visitors to the Brooktrout stand will be able to select a favorite tune, and once selected, this tune will then be the color ring back tone they hear when making a phone call to a given number. Brooktrout’s IP Media Server, in conjunction with Ubiquity’s RBT application, will play the selected tune to the caller until the call is answered.

Also on display in Brooktrout’s booth will be its NS700™ SS7 product line that provides a robust SS7 signaling feature set; its TR1000™, voice and speech processing platform; its TR1500™, carrier-grade voice processing platform and its TR2500™ platform for voice over packet gateways and enhanced services
