Brooktrout Technology and RADVISION Deliver
Integrated Next Gen Real-Time Video Solutions for Service Provider
Networks
Companies Forge Strategic Partnership to Market and Sell Advanced
IP Video Services
NEEDHAM, Mass, and FAIR LAWN, NJ, May 16, 2005
-- Brooktrout Technology, Inc. and RADVISION today announced a strategic
partnership for IP-based video solutions for the global service
provider market. The solution, which incorporates Brooktrout’s
SnowShore IP Media Server™ and RADVISION’s SCOPIA™
advanced video services platform, enables the transparent delivery
of high margin IP video services over circuit-switched, hybrid or
packet network architectures. The joint offering will enable a wide
range of media services including audio and video telephony and
conferencing, video mail and video messaging, interactive multimedia
content streaming, video in contact centers, and live entertainment
and communications services.
The partnership expands the companies’ relationship as Brooktrout
and RADVISION along with their joint partner Openwave are currently
deploying an integrated video messaging solution with TMN, Portugal’s
largest wireless 3G service provider.
“This partnership brings together two leaders in the emerging
IP video services space and highlights Brooktrout’s continued,
field-proven leadership as the media server of choice to drive advanced
IP multimedia services,” said Peter Vescuso, vice president
of Market Development at Brooktrout. “RADVISION Ltd. is one
of the industry’s leading providers of products and services
for video over IP and 3G networks. RADVISON and Brooktrout share
the same vision for innovation - to rapidly develop and deploy open,
SIP and VoiceXML based next generation services that drive differentiation
and revenue for our carrier customers.”
Brooktrout pioneered the use of SIP and VoiceXML for control of
its SnowShore IP Media Server™. Brooktrout’s suite of
media server products are open, carrier-class IP media servers that
deliver advanced media processing for communications applications,
from basic messaging and prepaid services to conferencing and video
mail. With standard network and programming interfaces such as SIP,
VoiceXML and MSCML, Brooktrout’s solutions provide interoperability
with a broad range of third-party Application Servers in next-generation
wireline, wireless and broadband networks.
“Our collective success creating the foundation of IP video
services architecture in TMN, Portugal, illustrates the power and
potential of this partnership,” said Amnon Gavish, Vice President
of Business Development at RADVISION. “The market for network-based
real-time video communications services is rapidly growing and we
believe this solution provides our carrier customers with critical
technologies needed to grow and scale this market as it reaches
critical mass. Customers will also benefit from RADVISION’s
vast experience in deploying its products in live networks worldwide.
”
RADVISION has been a leader in visual communication for over twelve
years, since it created the standards to deliver visual services
over IP networks and later over 3G networks. RADVISION offers an
advanced services platform that enables wireless and wireline service
providers to offer point-to-point and multipoint real-time video-based
services, providing complete interoperability between different
networks, protocols and devices. These new video-based services,
which complement traditional voice and data services already offered
by service providers, can grow the carrier’s revenues both
through increasing network usage as well as transforming the 3G
network into a conduit through which to offer existing billable
media. The RADVISION platform supports the 3G-324M specifications
from both the 3rd Generation Partnership Project (3GPP) for WCDMA
and 3GPP2 for CDMA2000.
RADVISION also offers through its Professional Services group,
customization of its platform to enable service providers to differentiate
their service offering and tailor their solution to the target subscribers.
