Brooktrout Technology Earns Gold Certified Partner Status In Microsoft Partner Program

Company also Distinguishes Itself by Obtaining Key Certifications for New Microsoft Speech Server Platform

NEEDHAM, Mass., July 6, 2005—Brooktrout Technology, Inc., a leading supplier of media processing and call control products, today announced it has earned gold certified status in Microsoft Corp.’s Partner Program recognizing Brooktrout’s expertise and total impact in the technology marketplace. As a Gold Certified Partner, Brooktrout has demonstrated expertise with Microsoft technologies and proven ability to meet customer needs. Microsoft Gold Certified Partners receive a rich set of benefits, including access, training and support, that give them a competitive advantage in the marketplace.

The Program distinguishes companies that have passed a series of stringent requirements by Microsoft, and provides Brooktrout with the resources it needs to optimize fax and speech-focused solutions based on the Microsoft technology platform. Brooktrout has been shipping products for Microsoft Shared Fax since 2001. The company is a leading provider of platforms for fax delivery and management with a broad fax product line and strong support of new industry protocols.

The Microsoft Partner Program was launched in December 2003 and represents Microsoft’s ongoing commitment to the success of partners worldwide. The Microsoft Partner Program offers a single, integrated partnering framework that recognizes partner expertise, rewards the total impact that partners have in the technology marketplace, and delivers more value to help partners’ businesses be successful.

In addition to the new partner status, Brooktrout has also obtained three important certifications for its new TR1000 for Microsoft Speech Server platform: Windows Hardware Quality Labs (WHQL), Windows Server 2003 and Microsoft Speech Server 2004 R2. The TR1000 for Microsoft Speech Server is the first telephony product to meet the Microsoft technical standards for reliability and management across applications, operating systems, drivers and telephony cards.
