Brooktrout and VoiceGenie Collaborate to Deliver New Generation
of High Scale Speech Driven
Multimedia Applications

NEEDHAM, Mass., October 17, 2005—Brooktrout
Technology, a leading supplier of media processing and call-control
products, and VoiceGenie Technologies Inc., the leader in VoiceXML
and speech platforms, today announced a strategic technology partnership
between the two companies. Brooktrout will incorporate VoiceGenie’s
VoiceXML technology into its SnowShore IP media server to help enable
fixed and mobile service providers to rapidly bring to market a
new generation of high scale speech-driven multimedia services.
Brooktrout and VoiceGenie enjoy a broad strategic partnership and
are collaborating to deliver media server products through their
partnership in the first quarter of 2006. Brooktrout expects to
make VoiceGenie’s industry leading VoiceXML 2.0-compliant
technology a standard feature of the SnowShore IP Media Server,
providing carriers with enhanced speech processing capabilities
and scalable VoiceXML support combined with carrier-grade multimedia
processing for advanced speech-driven applications.

Function Processor (MRFP) as defined by the IMS network architecture.
