-Global VoIP Services Provider Reduces Costs by Leveraging Excel’s Integrated SS7 Capabilities -
Istanbul, Turkey — September 20, 2005-- Televersal, a global VoIP-based telecommunications services provider, announced today that it has deployed Excel Switching Corporation’s Integrated Media Gateway 1010 (IMG 1010) in its worldwide network. Televersal is leveraging the IMG 1010 to provide VoIP-SS7 termination in front of its Nortel DMS 100 systems, supporting the carrier’s migration to an all-IP network by providing robust transcoding capabilities.
"Excel’s IMG 1010 is the ideal media gateway solution to meet Televersal’s aggressive plans and timeline to transition to an all-IP network" said Can Kiral, Chief Executive Officer, Televersal. "The IMG 1010 was easy to install and deploy, and has performed flawlessly with our existing network.
According to Engin Yesil, Chairman, Televersal, “The IMG 1010 will provide significant business advantages to Televersal as its integrated SS7 functionality speeds our time to market and simultaneously decreases the company’s PSTN interconnection costs, resulting in a rapid return on investment."
Excel's IMG 1010 offers service providers unparalleled performance, reliability and flexibility to introduce services across fixed and mobile networks worldwide. With its compact 1U package, integrated SS7 and flexible architecture, the IMG 1010 is a true carrier-grade VoIP gateway and/or VoIP transcoder that enables service providers to reduce costs while improving service quality.
"We’re extremely pleased with the results of the IMG 1010 deployment at Televersal,” said Michael Twomey, vice president, product planning and management, Excel Switching Corporation. Televersal is leveraging the capabilities of the IMG 1010 exactly as it was designed, and as a result is lowering interconnection costs and improving service flexibility. “
