SAN FRANCISCO, SpeechTEK West 2006, Booth 141, January 30, 2006 —Apptec Voice Solutions, a provider of custom network and telephony applications today announced that Apptec Voice Solutions has selected Brooktrout’s speech boards for its next generation of voice recording products, the Apptec Voice Recording System (VRS). The VRS uses the media processing capabilities of Brooktrout’s speech boards to take dictation from call-in users with any telephone, handheld recorder, or microphone station. The VRS saves time and streamlines document creation by allowing users such as doctors and lawyers to dictate information from any location and then sends the dictation to the appropriate transcriptionist who can turn the dictation into usable documents.

Apptec Voice Solutions Voice Recording System is the first voice recording system to integrate telephony, handheld, and microphone station recording into a solution that is affordable for even sole proprietorships. VRS allows users to input voice content from any telephone, anywhere, and includes RAID-1 mirrored voice storage and workflow management. Each user has a unique profile that allows the system to respond to his/her individual needs. The system tags each recording with key parameters that streamline workflow; and a transcriptionist can select work easily, and can even select priority work or a specific recording in an instant.

Brooktrout’s speech platform connects VRS systems to the telephone network and processes all voice and touch-tone responses for use by the application. The speech platform provides unsurpassed audio quality, especially when using playback speed control, as well as a full range of analog and digital call controls. Call processing is enhanced through the use of monitoring tones and other call connection indications provided by the Brooktrout speech board.
