Cantata Technology Promotes John Wastcoat to Vice President of
Sales for Asia Pacific Region
BEIJING, CHINA VOIP EXPO, Booth #101 - June 14, 2006
-- Cantata Technology™, the world’s leading independent
provider of enabling communications technology, today announced
the promotion of John Wastcoat to the position of vice president
of sales, Asia Pacific. Mr. Wastcoat will lead both the Carrier/OEM
and Enterprise sales in APAC, and continue the expansion of the
company’s already strong presence in the region. Previously,
Mr. Wastcoat served as the Asia sales manager, where he led sales
and business development initiatives for the Voice over Packet market
in the Pacific Rim.
Mr. Wastcoat has been with Cantata Technology (formerly Brooktrout
Technology® and Excel Switching) since 1998, where he was responsible
for the sales, marketing programs and business development in the
Pacific Rim. In addition to growing the business in the region by
over 20% each year, he was instrumental in opening the company’s
branch office in Japan in 2003. Mr. Wastcoat also led the effort
in developing relationships with major corporations in Asia such
as Samsung, NTT Communications, PCCW, and SmarTone.
Prior to joining Cantata, Mr. Wastcoat was the associate director
of the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development,
Japan Office, developing commercial relationships between the state
of Pennsylvania and Japanese companies. He holds a Bachelor's Degree
in Political Science from the University of Montana and a degree
from Nichibei Kaiwa Gakuin Japanese Language School in Tokyo.
