Cantata Technology Expands its Brooktrout TR1000 for Microsoft
Speech Platform Services
Adds Support for European Telephony Interfaces and Answering
Machine Detection
NEW YORK – SpeechTEK 2006, Booth
#508– August 9, 2006-- Cantata Technology™,
the world's leading independent provider of enabling communications
technology, today announced several enhancements to its Brooktrout®
TR1000™ for Microsoft Speech Server 2004 R2 and the next version
of Speech Server, which was recently renamed Microsoft Office Communications
Server 2007 Speech Platform Services. The updated TR1000 now includes
additional hardware configurations that support both European and
North American deployments, and advanced call features such as answering
machine detection. The TR1000 is ideal for deployments in speech
self-service and contact center applications.
Cantata Technology was established in 2006 through the combination
of Excel Switching Corporation and Brooktrout Technology®.
Cantata's Brooktrout TR1000 for MS is the first high-performance,
easy-to-deploy telephony platform designed for Microsoft Speech
Server 2004 and future versions of the platform. A single, orderable
item, it includes the award-winning TR1000 speech processing board,
Brooktrout Telephony Interface Manager (TIM), Windows-certified
drivers, configuration tools and a complete suite of management
utilities. The TR1000 for MS manages all the telephony resources
so application developers can focus on their design and get their
deployment done faster. This is especially beneficial for IT developers,
who sometimes have limited telephony experience.
New versions of the TR1000 for MS are now available in configurations
for the European market including 1 and 2 port ISDN BRI, and single,
dual and quad-span E1. Cantata has also added a quad span T1 board
for the North American market, in addition to the existing analog
and single/dual span digital boards. All of the TR1000 for MS boards
are designed to fully comply with the European Union Restriction
of Hazardous Substances (RoHS) directive, without requiring any
telecom exemptions for the presence of lead. Cantata has also implemented
Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) labeling on all
European Union products to reduce customer expenses in meeting the
WEEE directive.
"Cantata's additional support for European telephony interfaces
including BRI and E1 is a great advantage to developers who can
start building their speech applications today and have them ready
to deploy as Microsoft rolls out additional language support including
German and UK English," said Clint Patterson, director of product
management for Microsoft Speech Server at Microsoft.
"We've deployed several speech applications using Cantata's
Brooktrout TR1000 for MS in the European market already," said
Giuseppe Di Girolamo, president of Bludis srl. (www.bludis.com)
"Cantata's all-in-one easy installation model, along with their
expanded range of low to high density platforms that support BRI
and E1 will allow us to serve our customers even better." Bludis
focused the speech application development in the Call Center, System
Alerting and Human Resource Management areas.
In addition to the expanded telephony interfaces, Cantata has enhanced
its software on the TR1000 for MS with configurable answering machine
detection. This feature is particularly useful with outbound calling
applications such as appointment reminders, where the system needs
to determine whether the call has been answered by a live person
or an answering machine. Cantata is the only vendor to currently
offer this feature.
Quick Start Kit
A specially-priced TR1000 for MS "Starter Kit" is available
today for North America and Europe that includes everything needed
to build a working system with easy conversion to a larger production
system. For more information, contact Cantata at +1 781 449-4100
