to Expand SIP Feature Set and Functionality

NEEDHAM, Mass., September 12, 2006 -- Cantata
Technology™, the world’s leading independent provider
of enabling communications technology, announced today it has released
a new version of its popular IMG 1010 Integrated Media and Signaling
Gateway (IMG 1010™), which expands its Session Initiation
Protocol (SIP) feature set to encompass the requirements of advanced
VoIP service providers for wholesale traffic, as well as enhanced
SIP services.
Cantata Technology was established in 2006 through the combination
of Excel Switching Corporation and Brooktrout Technology®.
Cantata's IMG 1010 is an integrated media and signaling gateway
that provides any-to-any network connectivity, enabling delivery
of SIP services into legacy SS7/PRI networks, as well as IP to IP
transcoding for IP network peering applications. The IMG 1010 offers
service providers unparalleled performance, reliability, and flexibility
to introduce services across fixed and mobile networks worldwide.
The new, enhanced version of the IMG 1010 includes an expanded,
robust SIP feature set, including SIP redirect for enhanced routing
control, as well as SIP Info for transmitting digits to SIP application
servers. To enhance usability for managing large networks, the enhanced
IMG 1010 also incorporates SNMP and MRTG as standards-based management
and monitoring interfaces, resulting in increased product reliability
and uptime.
