Excel Converged Services Platform with Call Agent
Mode to support range of functions on the CSP for
cost effective network services
The Cantata Technology Excel CSP Call Agent gives
developers the ability to build rich converged network services
while enabling service providers to recognize significant network
cost savings. The CSP with Call Agent eliminates the disadvantages
associated with other network architecture alternatives like gateway
applications, SIP application servers, and IP service nodes. Gateway
applications relieve the system of backhaul costs, but offer limited
signaling and media support. SIP application servers inter-work
with softswitches and SIP gateways, but don’t provide PSTN
inter-working or H.323, and offer limited media. IP service nodes
provide the best solution for IP/TDM network flexibility, may offer
media services, and may support multiple applications, but many
suffer from high backhaul costs and limited scalability. Each network
architecture offers its own set of benefits and limitations. The
Call Agent Mode offers a range of advantages, offers costs savings
and scalability.
