Cantata Re-licensing and Upgrade Program

Overview

Cantata offers a comprehensive Re-licensing and Upgrade Program (RE-UP) for the Excel CSP 2090. This is an attractively priced bundled program that provides customers with older and used equipment the opportunity to have systems legitimized, re-licensed, refurbished, and covered under Cantata’s Support plan. As an important part of this program Cantata is offering additional incentives to upgrade to our latest 8.x. Software and Hardware.

Eligible Customers

This program is targeting VARs, Distributors, and Developer Carriers. This program is not available directly to “end users,” although end users will benefit from this program by purchasing this program through VARs and Distributors. Should an end user approach Cantata directly with used equipment, they shall be referred to a VAR / Distributor.

Any new Developers (VAR’s / Carrier Developers) approaching Cantata with used equipment shall be referred to inside sales for qualification as a direct customer. These new developers may be referred to Distributors and shall be handled on a case-by-case basis.

RE-UP Program Components

Base Package

The components of the program are bundled as a comprehensive package that enable a customer to bring a system up to current revisions of hardware, software and support. The program starts with a Base Package, which accommodates getting the system qualified, licensed, refurbished, and supported. The Base Package portion includes the following features:

  • Evaluation of the equipment
  • 8.x Base System Software Cantata’s Support Plan coverage for 1 year*
  • Repairs for up to 2 CSP cards

8.x Upgrade and Trade In

In addition to the Base Package you may trade in hardware and add software or hardware to round out your system. As an additional incentive to upgrade the system to our 8.x software and hardware, Cantata is offering a 65% discount on certain software and hardware components, which require a trade in. These components must be purchased as part of the program and included in the same Purchase Order as the Base Package to realize this discount level. The following hardware and software components are eligible for a discount:

Conditions and Requirements

  • The pricing of the RE-UP program components are not further discountable.
  • The 8.x hardware pricing (65% discount) only applies if all the requirements are met for the Base Package portion of this offer. All components purchased must be included in the same purchase order. Future orders and additional hardware and software for the qualifying system are at normal pricing.
  • This program assumes Customers are covered under an existing Cantata Support Plan. If a customer does not have a current support plan in place, they may purchase one and become eligible (Minimum charge $10,000).
  • For systems upgrading to 8.x System Software the Base Package price is $8,000.
  • The Base Package pricing is based on a single system. This includes up to 2 nodes, which must be connected via EXNET into a single system. Additional Base Package charges are based on 2 node increments as follows.
    • For a single CSP node system upgrading to 8.x the Base Package price is $8,000.
    • For an EXNET system of 2 nodes upgrading to 8.x, the Base Package price is $8,000 .
    • For an EXNET system of 3 or 4 nodes upgrading to 8.x, the Base Package price is $16,000.
    • For an EXNET system of 5 or 6 nodes upgrading to 8.x, the Base Package price is $24,000.
    • 7 nodes: $32,000.
  • Included in the Base Package are up to 2 board repairs or minor revision enhancements. These boards must be resident in the nodes being evaluated. If more than 2 boards require repairs then additional charges apply for the remaining boards (25% of list) and this program covers the 2 least costly to repair. This program excludes discontinued products or products found to be non-repairable. In the case where a board is not repairable or upgradeable, additional replacement hardware will be quoted to the customer (normal pricing applies).
  • Nodes must be of a valid configuration to be eligible for this program. Additional cards can be evaluated and refurbished at 6% of list price of the board being evaluated. This may exclude discontinued products or products found to be non-repairable. In these cases additional replacement hardware will be quoted to the customer.
  • One existing card of the same type (Matrix, DSP, etc) must be traded in for each card purchased at this discount. The customer has 30 days to return the exchanged card or they will be invoiced for the entire list price of the purchased card.
  • On site Evaluations by VARs / Distributors require pre-enrollment in Authorized Evaluation Partners Program
  • The sale or license of any Cantata products listed is expressly conditioned upon Customer's assent to the terms and conditions contained in the Cantata Technology, Inc. Terms and Conditions of Sale and Licensing. To view standard terms and conditions, click here.
  • At its sole discretion, Cantata reserves the right to discontinue this program at any time.
  • At its sole discretion, Cantata reserves the right to limit customer eligibility, and / or system eligibility for this program.
