Training
Course: Converged Services Platform
Description
Provides a solid understanding of how to implement switching solutions
using SwitchKit and the Converged Services Platform. This in-depth
course addresses CSP hardware architecture and components, software
architecture, software features, and API messages. The course also
provides a solid working knowledge of SwitchKit. The students perform
hands-on lab exercises to initialize and configure the system; implement
system redundancy; and perform basic call processing using a Switchkit
application. Lab exercises are SwitchKit-based and thoroughly address
all features of the SwitchKit OA&M system.
Audience
Application developers and network engineers who will architect
and design switching solutions using Converged Services Platforms;
systems engineers and experienced switch technicians who require
a solid understanding of switch operation.
Length
Five days
Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe CSP features, hardware components, and software architecture
- Understand software and hardware features, including system
redundancy
- Initialize switch and download system software
- Initialize host-to-switch communications
- Describe SwitchKit architecture, features, and log files
- Create a CSP configuration using the Converged Services Administrator
(CSA)
- Perform CSP monitoring and provisioning tasks using CSA
- Outline requirements for a call control application using EXS
API
- Understand basic in-band and common channel signaling (CCS)
call models
- Configure SS7 Signaling and initiate TCAP transactions
Pre-Requisites
General knowledge of TDM switching, T1 and E1 interfaces, in-band
signaling protocols, and SS7.
