Course: INTEGRATED MEDIA GATEWAY, IMG 1010
Description
Provides a solid understanding of how to support the Integrated
Media Gateway. The course addresses IMG hardware components, software
architecture, and software features. The course also provides a
working knowledge of the Gate Control Element Management System.
The students perform hands-on lab exercises to configure, monitor,
provision, and troubleshoot the IMG.
Audience
Support engineers and experienced switch technicians providing
customer support for the IMG.

Three days
Objectives
At the conclusion of this course, students will be able to:
- Describe IMG features, hardware components and software architecture
- Understand software features, including SS7 redundancy
- Describe GC EMS architecture, features, and log files
- Install and set-up GC EMS
- Initialize the IMG and download system software
- Create an IMG configuration using ClientView
- Perform IMG monitoring and provisioning tasks using ClientView
and EventView
- Troubleshoot IMG configuration problems using validation report
and call tracing
- Perform IMG 1010 hardware maintenance
Pre-Requisites
Experience providing customer support on circuit and packet switching
equipment in a live network environment is required. Detailed knowledge
of SS7, ISDN, SIP, H.323, and RTP protocols is required.
